One EE Draw, One BC PNP Draw. And a webinar you don't want to miss on May 26

Hi Reader,

Happy Sunday! It's Tiffany.

It's the Victoria Day long weekend and Vancouver is absolutely delivering. The kind of cool, sunny May weekend that reminds you exactly why you chose this country. I hope you're outside more than you're inside today.

Grab a cup of coffee. Let's go through it together.

This Week in Canadian Immigration (30-second summary)

  • Express Entry PNP draw on May 11: 380 ITAs at CRS 798
  • No CEC or category draw this week
  • BC PNP High Economic Impact draw on May 14: 437 invitations across wage-based and points-based selection
  • OINP overhaul takes effect May 30 — 14 days away, no confirmed replacement stream details yet
  • Express Entry overhaul consultation closes May 24 — 8 days left

IRCC Updates

Express Entry Draws — May 11-16, 2026

Draw #416 — Provincial Nominee Program | May 11, 2026

✅ ITAs: 380

✅ CRS: 798

✅ Tie-break: January 7, 2026 at 05:23:31 UTC

📌 The 798 reflects the automatic 600-point nomination bonus. The actual base CRS of the lowest-ranked candidate is approximately 198. No CEC or category draw followed this week, which breaks IRCC's pattern throughout 2026.

The pool of candidates in the 501-600 range grew by 1,799 between April 26 and May 10. When the next CEC draw runs, it will be pulling from a larger high-scoring pool. If your CRS is between 510 and 520, make sure your profile is current and your strategy doesn't rely on one draw type alone.

PNP Updates — May 6-16, 2026

British Columbia (BC PNP)

BC held two draws on May 14 under High Economic Impact selection, issuing 437 invitations total.

  • Wage-based selection: 225 invitations | minimum $59/hour and $120,000/year | job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3
  • Points-based selection: 212 invitations | minimum score 135

📌 BC continues to prioritise high-value job positioning. Having a job offer is not enough on its own. Your wage, NOC, and employer fit all factor into whether BC's current draws reach you.

Ontario (OINP)

No draws this week. May 30 is 14 days away. All nine current streams revoke on that date. Replacement stream details have not been confirmed. If you have an active EOI profile and a qualifying job offer, keep your profile current and monitor the OINP updates page daily.

1to1 Canadian Immigration Weekly Update

Hi Reader, Happy Sunday, it’s Tiffany. This was a relatively quiet week for Canadian Immigration, mainly because it's a short week. But I still want to talk about it, because quiet weeks can be dangerous for applicants, especially when the last CEC draw was on April 28, 2026 (CRS: 514). When nothing huge happens, it is very easy to think, “I’ll wait for the next draw,” or “I’ll look at this again later.” And if your work permit is expiring in 2028, maybe that is not urgent yet. But if your...

Hi Reader, Happy Sunday! It's Tiffany. This week, the immigration news we've all been waiting on finally arrived. On May 4, IRCC officially released the details of the In-Canada Workers Initiative. I know many of you have been waiting for the program details. The short version: it's not what most of us were expecting. I'll walk you through exactly what was confirmed, what it means, and what you should be focused on instead. Today's email is going to be a long one. Grab a cup of coffee. Let's...

May 2026 Canadian immigration update including Express Entry, PNP draws, and TR to PR insights

Hi Reader, Happy Sunday! It's Tiffany. We have been really fortunate to enjoy a streak of sunny days. Seems like Vancouver is no longer "Raincouver", time to change the city's nickname to "Suncouver"? I hope you're getting outside and enjoying the clear blue sky and gorgeous weather. It was a strange week in immigration. Three Express Entry draws in three days, and but more importantly, the long anticipated TR to PR program details that our Immigration Minister promised to announce in April...
